Ball Point Pen

The history of ball point pen is totally awesome.
                                                                 SURPRISED!
The ballpoint pen is less than eight decades old!!
The first ballpoint pen was named "Biro" which comes from its inventor Ladislao Josē Biro.
An ad of Biro

Ladislao Josē Biro, born in 1899, was a journalist. He got very frustrated when fountain pens blotted and smudged. He tried to solve this problem by visiting a printing press which used a quick-drying ink and a roller for printing.
He tried to use same ink with fountain pen but it didn't worked as the ink was to  thick and thus, slow-moving to reach the tip of nib.
So he created a ballpoint nib which was coated with a thin film of ink from a cartridge as it made contact with paper and spun a socket. Still the design wasn't perfect so Ladislao José Biro took help from his brother György Bíró which thus, created Biro-The First Ballpoint Pen!

This is how Google is celebrating his 117th B'day
